A 27-year-old dispatch rider, Fuseini Sadat, has become the first beneficiary of the recently launched 'Work Abroad' Programme by government.
Sadat found and returned a bag containing a huge sum of money and two Samsung flip phones belonging to former Ghana Bar Association President, Anthony Forson.
Speaking at the launch of the 'Work Abroad' initiative by the Ministry of Labour Relations and the Youth Employment Agency (YEA)—on Tuesday, March 18, Mr. Forson recounted how he lost the bag after attending a program at the Lancaster Hotel in Accra.
After driving from the venue to McCarthy Hill, he attempted to make a call but realized his bag, which contained money, was missing from his car.
He returned to the hotel’s parking lot to search for it but could not find it. Though hesitant at first, he eventually decided to call one of the phones inside the bag. Sadat answered the call and informed him that he had been waiting for the owner to reach out.
According to the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, when he finally met Sadat, “I found all my money intact and my phone also intact. The money was huge, but he returned it without taking a pesewa.”
As a token of appreciation, the renowned lawyer has pledged to cover all expenses for Sadat under the 'Work Abroad Programme', allowing him to travel and work abroad to improve his family’s financial situation.
The 'Work Abroad Programme' is an innovative initiative by the YEA aimed at leveraging global labour market opportunities to connect job seekers with international jobs, internships, and training.
Through this programme, the YEA seeks to position itself as a model institution by collaborating with Ghanaian missions abroad, foreign embassies in Ghana, and other stakeholders.
It will facilitate manpower requests from foreign employers while ensuring the safe deployment of skilled and unskilled young Ghanaians to work abroad.

A good man. With all the money stolen, Akufo Addo wouldn't do what this young man has done.
