Ghanaian media personality Kwaku Sintim-Misa, widely known as KSM, has commended Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, for his mature approach to handling criticism.
According to KSM, the Effutu MP demonstrated true statesmanship by reaching out to him after he had criticized him harshly over his demeanor and posturing in Parliament following his party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.
“There were things I didn’t quite understand, but he clarified them for me. Above all, I think it’s a mark not only of a true politician but of a noble human being—someone who can hear criticism, reach out, and say, ‘My friend, I understand you’re criticizing me, but you don’t fully grasp the issues,’ and then take the time to explain,” he said.
KSM further revealed that Afenyo-Markin personally contacted him to address the criticism and later appeared on his show to provide clarity.
“He gave me a call, you know. He first sent a text, but I didn’t recognize the number, so I texted back and asked, ‘Who is this?’ And he responded, saying it was him and that he wanted to talk to me to explain a few things. I was very shocked, so I called him, and he answered. I was very shocked, you know, considering how harsh I was on him,” he recounted.Following the engagement, KSM admitted that he had been too harsh and misunderstood certain aspects of the lawmaker’s actions in Parliament.
“So, I want to apologize to Afenyo-Markin for misjudging him on that specific issue we discussed. I also want to thank him for taking the time to call me and, beyond that, for agreeing to be my guest and explain things,” he added.
