Ghanaian media personality Kwaku Sintim-Misa, widely known as KSM, has apologized to Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, for his harsh criticism of him.

In one of his shows, the veteran actor and media personality took a swipe at the Effutu MP over his demeanor and posturing in Parliament following his party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.

However, KSM revealed that despite not being pleased with the criticism, the lawmaker handled the issue maturely by calling him and later appearing on his show to clarify matters.

“He gave me a call, you know. He first sent a text, but I didn’t recognize the number, so I texted back and asked, ‘Who is this?’ And he responded, saying it was him and that he wanted to talk to me to explain a few things. I was very shocked, so I called him, and he answered. I was very shocked, you know, considering how harsh I was on him,” he said.

He went on to commend the Minority Leader for his show of statesmanship and his approach to addressing misunderstandings.

“There were things I didn’t quite understand, but he clarified them for me. Above all, I think it’s a mark not only of a true politician but of a noble human being—someone who can hear criticism, reach out, and say, ‘My friend, I understand you’re criticizing me, but you don’t fully grasp the issues,’ and then take the time to explain.

“So, I want to apologize to Afenyo-Markin for misjudging him on that specific issue we discussed. I also want to thank him for taking the time to call me and, beyond that, for agreeing to be my guest and explain things,” KSM added.

Meanwhile, Mr. Afenyo-Markin explained to KSM that his current posture in Parliament is part of his responsibility in leading the rebranding efforts of his party following its hevy defeat in the 2024 general elections.
