Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has embarked on a diplomatic journey to India to engage in discussions aimed at enhancing the relationship between the two nations.

This visit, highlighted in a post on his X page, marks his inaugural diplomatic trip outside the African continent.

Honoring an invitation from India's Foreign Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Ablakwa described this opportunity as a chance to "reinforce a well-solidified relationship." He emphasized India's status as "a reliable, trusted and historical partner since the days of Nkrumah and Nehru."

Ablakwa also pointed out the significance of India as a valuable ally in light of their "South-South development aspirations." While in India, Ghana’s Foreign Minister is set to participate in the Raisina Dialogue, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

India has been crucial in supporting Ghana’s education system by providing 500 full scholarships annually for Ghanaian students to study in India.
