Help Ghana Regain Its Robust Economy Without Looking For Appointment From President Mahama

Feature Article Help Ghana Regain Its Robust Economy Without Looking For Appointment From President Mahama

It wasn't an easy battle to overthrow the NPP, the previous government. The general public voted overwhelmingly against the NPP because of the country's eight years of destruction, the pain, the deaths of numerous innocent people, including pensioners, the unending, pervasive corruption, and the money laundering that caused the economy, businesses, and investments to collapse. However, a lot of people who supported the NDC are hoping to be appointed by President John Mahama.

People who love their country will stop at nothing to make it great, and since it takes two to tango, many well-known NDC supporters sacrificed their lives to help the party win the 2024 elections. However, a lot of them are unhappy with President Mahama. They are disappointed because they believe he has let them down by not offering them positions in his administration. The question is, where is the funding to compensate those who assisted if the president is required to offer them a post?

It's clear that many NDC political activists, former MPs, and other NPP members who publicly backed the present administration are hoping to be appointed by President Mahama. They shouldn't be resentful and hope that this new government fails if the appointment doesn’t come. Everyone has a part to play as Ghanaians, whether they are appointed or not. For example, in the midst of insults and derogatory remarks, I wrote many articles warning Ghanaians about the impending fate under the NPP.

Ghana has been so severely mishandled, destroyed, and embezzled that it has not only had an impact on the economy but also left many institutions in debt. The energy sector is where a lot of embezzlement occurred. In addition to the staggering national debt of GHC 763 billion, the energy industry was poorly managed, resulting in a high amount of debt that needs to be paid off quickly, which led the country to experience sporadic power outages, commonly known as “Dumsor.”

Even though the NDC is in power, the new administration is having difficulties because of the harm caused by the previous administration and the outstanding debts, which are impeding the government's attempts to improve the country. Therefore, why should you be upset with Mahama for not offering you an appointment if you are a patriotic Ghanaian and are well aware of the issues his government is facing? Without any bitterness, let everyone help to make Ghana a better country.

I've noticed a lot of people on social media expressing their rage and vowing not to support the NDC in any elections. First of all, did you assist the NDC in removing the previous corrupt and incompetent administration so that Mahama could provide jobs for the suffering people, or you did assist because you wanted an appointment from him? Keep in mind that some ministers have been appointed to two distinct positions because the state has gone bankrupt and the administration needs to save money.

Ghana will never develop if everyone wants a reward for everything we do to make it a wonderful country. The majority of us who have contributed to the NDC's success may not receive any recognition, but that shouldn't provoke because our children and great-grandchildren will reap the rewards of our efforts. Even though it really hurt, when individuals attacked me for criticizing the previous government and accused me that I was working for the NDC, I know that time will tell.

“I will never fight for an African leader but for my beloved Ghana," was an article I wrote on October 16, 2021. Ghanaians only need to read this article to understand that I was striving for a better government because I love my nation. To help prepare Ghana for a brighter future for the next generation and a strong, sustainable economy, we should all have the same mindset. That is the essence of patriotism.

My dream is for Ghana to be a great country because, after almost 40 years in Europe, I want to come home and settle.
