Popular media personality Kofi Adoma Nwanwani has finally spoken about the harrowing incident that left him with a severe eye injury, explaining that he chose to share his story now out of fear that time may not be on his side.
At an emergency meeting on Thursday, March 2025, Kofi Adoma broke his silence on the tragic event that occurred in December 2024, offering clarity on the circumstances surrounding the injury and an update on his recovery.
The incident happened while he was covering the Dormaa Kwafie Festival in the Bono Region, where he was struck in the face by an accidental musket discharge. The impact caused extensive damage to his eye, requiring multiple surgeries to save his vision.
Reflecting on the ordeal, he expressed deep gratitude for surviving such a traumatic experience, acknowledging how close he came to losing his life. The realization, he admitted, was overwhelming—knowing that under different circumstances, the gathering could have been for his funeral instead.
“When I looked at the number of people gathered here, all I could think was that this could have been my funeral. I recently heard about a similar incident in Nungua where the victim did not survive. All I can say is that God loves me,” he added.
He noted that he had to break silence before anything happens to him in future.
“As I speak to you, my head aches so badly. I have decided to speak before whatever is meant to happen, happens. At least, if I am able to speak before what is meant to occur does, I would have shared my truth already. The narratives I've heard about the incident were disheartening,” he emphasised.
