A group of National Democratic Congress (NDC) taskforce members in the Ashanti Region gathered at the party’s regional office on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, demanding job placements as compensation for their efforts in securing victory in the 2024 general elections.
The Ashanti Regional NDC Taskforce Coordinator, Seidu Isshaku, stated that they had been assured of employment opportunities and insisted they would not relent until those promises were honored.
“We have been neglected after Mr. Mahama promised to offer us jobs. He informed us not to leave the voting centers until he was declared the winner.
“We heeded this advice, we worked diligently on the voting day and he was announced the winner, but he has failed to fulfil his promise to us. Nobody has recognised our efforts, we haven’t heard anything from the presidency.
“People who are not part of NDC have been appointed to juicy agencies, and we have been left out. We want our share of the appointments," he stated.
