Information has it that the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), Lawyer Kwame Asuah Takyi, has requested to proceed on leave prior to retirement.
A source at the Interior Ministry said the Comptroller attained the age of 60 on July 18, 2022, but was granted an extension of service by then-President Akufo-Addo, which ends on July 18, 2025.
He is said to have written to the President and copied the Minister of the Interior.
