The Fugitive Tag Would Definitely Hang On The Neck Of Ken Ofori Atta Until He Submit Himself To SFO

Feature Article The Fugitive Tag Would Definitely Hang On The Neck Of Ken Ofori Atta Until He Submit Himself To SFO
TUE, 18 FEB 2025

The tag fugitive would remain on the neck of Ken Ofori Atta as long as he refuses to submit himself to the Special Prosecutor. Is he afraid he maybe treated like Late Victor Selormey former deputy minister for finance during President Rawlings era, who was accused of committing a crime, and willingly came down while having medical treatment outside the jurisdiction. Unfortunately he was treated like a common criminal arrested on the Kotoka International Airport tarmac and thrown into prison custody.

Mr Ken Ofori Atta must understand the government that pampered him for the past eight years when his office was kept for several months when he was away for medical treatment. He must realized, that reckless government have been booted out of office by angry Ghanaians, and those privileges accorded him had extinguished since 7th January 2025.

Former Minister Ken Ofori Atta must do himself, his admirers and his blind loyalist a great favour not go through the trauma, Mr Afenyo Markin, the minority leader alerted Ghanaians off, by surrendering himself to the SFO and account for his stewardship for the past seven years in office.

The New Patriotic Party must not portray they came into government with the intention to loot the nation Ghana. It is only criminal gangs that would resist and stsmpede accountability when called upon to account for their stewardship.

The National Democratic Congress government under the leadership of late Prof Mills and John Mahama realized the huge amount government spent on officials having medical treatment outside the shores of Ghana, and that influenced the decision to start the University Ghana Medical Center the only quaternary hospital in West Africa. The first phase was ready before the NDC government exited office after the 2016 general elections.

The new government led by Nana Akufo Addo delayed the usage of that great facility due to petty politicking. President Nana Akufo Addo did not see the usage of that facility very important because most of them have their medical treatment outside the shores of Ghana, until COVID 19 pandemic struck and visited some of them including the health minister and they could not travelled outside the country for treatment and felt embarrassed having treatment at the hospital they so bastardized.

President Nana Akufo Addo and his cousin Ken Ofori Atta have done a great disservice to Ghanaians when deliberately starved ongoing hospital project of funds and happily pumped fifty eight ( 58 ) million dollars in the biggest hole with the name national cathedral.

Ghanaians must be angry with the theatrics of the New Patriotic Party either in government or out government, this was a government that deceived Ghanaians with Agenda 88 hospitals before the 2020 general elections, after winning the 2020 elections they tricked the electorates by upgrading Agenda 88 to Agenda 111 hospitals. Even to extent of pulling down La general hospital deprived people the services rendered by the hospital.

The reckless decisions of the president Nana Akufo Addo's government appear as if they do not have human feelings. They behave as if they are different breeds of Ghanaians that must have all the privileges.

By the end of Nana Akufo Addo's presidency he was unable to complete a single Agenda 111 hospitals, throughout the eight years of tenure as president, and abandoned most hospitals at different stages of completion entrusted to him when he became president.

The New Patriotic Party must be remorseful after the disastrous defeat, rather are being encouraged by some media houses to gaslight the citizens with lies and deceits. Every Ghanaian saw the hostilities and cruelty the citizenry were subjected during the painful eight year of misrule. The media was not spared, some journalist had to flee from the country for their life.

It is a pity some media men allowed members of the past government to churned out lies which they knew are untruths and refused to fact check them, by referring them to their dark precedent.

Those lawyers and media personalities who feel the Special Prosecutor is using high handedness on their favourite Mr Ken Ofori Atta must go to court and stop attacking the Special Prosecutor or advice their royal the former finance minister to submit himself to the Special Prosecutor.
