Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande has indicated that no matter what happens to former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, government will retrieve all stolen money from him.
Speaking to Joy News on Monday, February 17, Mr. Gbande who is the Deputy Director of Operations at the presidency stressed that even death will not stop the ruling government from going after Ofori-Atta.
He claims that the body of Ken Ofori-Atta will be prosecuted and jailed even if he passes on.
"If, for any reason, he passes on, his dead body will be prosecuted and jailed, and every stolen penny belonging to the people of Ghana will be retrieved,” Mustapha Gbande said.
This comes after Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng declared Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive at a press conference in Accra last week.
At the press conference, the Special Prosecutor indicated that the former Finance Minister is a suspect in four high-profile cases including investigations into the National Cathedral.
It is understood that Ken Ofori-Atta is out of the country receiving medical treatment.
In his interview with Joy News, Mustapha Gbande served notice that everything will be done to bring the former Finance Minister to Ghana.
"If Ken Ofori-Atta refuses to come, every measure will be deployed to bring him back,” Mr. Gbande indicated.
