Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, says a bigger electoral defeat awaits the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The 2024 election resulted in a huge victory for NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, with a winning margin of over 1.7 million votes, further securing an absolute parliamentary majority of over 180 seats.

Following the outcome, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) blamed their loss largely on their members’ decision to stay away from the polls— a claim NDC has rejected.

Reacting to this, Mr. Ofosu Nkansah said the NDC’s current posture could cost them the biggest electoral defeat in history.

The NPP stalwart, who revealed that the party worked hard despite anticipating a difficult election, further rejected claims that his party will remain in opposition for a long time.

“It’s interesting reading from NDC folks that no NPP supporter decided not to vote in the 2024 elections. That our votes reduced by over 2 million because they were able to check rigging.

“Those of us in NPP knew the 2024 election was always going to be difficult, even though we still did the best campaign we could. But from their posture, their next defeat will take them like rapture.

“Their talk of NPP going into opposition for many terms… Politicians and complacency are like 5 and 6. They never learn,” his post reads.

The NPP's defeat after 2028 and beyond will give them the shock that many will die prematurely just as they killed the pensioners. The vigilance to avoid rigging will be more powerful than what occurred in 2024. You are talking because you are hungry; I am talking based on deep political analysis, and when I shoot, I don't miss. I will live by God's grace to remind you.
