Kwame Jantuah, a member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has called on the Minister of Interior, Muntaka Mohammed, to publicly explain why the residence of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta was raided.
In what the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has condemned, armed men in military uniform reportedly raided the Cantonments residence of Mr. Ofori-Atta on Tuesday, February 11, while he was abroad.
The Special Prosecutor Lawyer Kissi Agyabeng claimed the raid was staged by the former Minister—who has been declared a wanted fugitive—to court public sympathy.
However, CCTV footage later confirmed that the operation was carried out with the involvement of National Security.
Reacting to the incident on Accra-based TV3’s New Day on Friday, February 14, Mr. Jantuah said the raid could affect the reputation of President Mahama. He, therefore, urged the Interior Minister to address the matter.
“It paints a certain picture when the President is concerned, and you hear the opposition talking about it as if it’s Mahama. He might know nothing about it. Was he advised? Was he told this was going to happen?”
Even though Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has apologized for the incident on the floor of Parliament, Mr. Jantuah said that is insufficient.
“The Interior Minister should come and explain to us why it happened. The Majority Leader apologizing is not enough. He should come and tell us why it happened.
“Does it lie in the mouth of the Majority Leader to apologize? I believe it’s the Interior Minister who is responsible for security services. He should have come to Parliament to explain why this happened,” he added.

Since the tyrant Akufo Addo is no longer in power, all of you can now share your opinions. Akufo Addo did many despicable things against Ghanaians, and even the security at the former Flagstaff Ho...
