The Minority in Parliament has pledged its full cooperation and support for President John Dramani Mahama, promising to uphold the respect and protocols necessary for effective governance.

Their commitment comes in the wake of an apology from Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga to former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, following a controversial raid on his residence. The operation, carried out on Tuesday, February 11, was led by National Security operative Richard Jakpa, along with individuals dressed in police and military uniforms.

Reacting to the apology, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin welcomed the government’s move, acknowledging it as a step toward maintaining civility and accountability in national affairs.

“My respected colleague, extend to His Excellency the President of the Republic, the assurances of the Minority that with this, we will also accord him every courtesy due him as president of the republic.

“We would cooperate and oppose when we have to oppose after all our duty is to oppose you and we can work together as a people to represent our people and for our people to learn from us and to teach us and to train us and to help us to advance this democracy,” Afenyo-Markin stated
