A five-month-old baby girl was tragically killed in Bawku after attackers seized her from her mother and brutally smashed her to the ground.
The baby’s mother, who had gone out to trade, was reportedly tracked by the assailants, assaulted, and had her child forcibly taken before the horrific act was committed.
This latest killing adds to the escalating violence in Bawku and along the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway, pushing the death toll to 55 since the conflict reignited in October 2024.
Despite efforts by security forces to restore order and safeguard travelers, armed attacks persist, deepening fear among residents and commuters.
