The Member of Parliament (MP) for Yapei Kusawgu, John Abdulai Jinapor has wished former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta the best of luck following his declaration as a fugitive of justice.
Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng on Wednesday, February 12, declared Ofori-Atta wanted at a press conference in Accra.
The former Finance Minister is a suspect in four high-profile corruption investigations, including cases related to the National Cathedral project, Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML), and two others.
Speaking on the issue in Parliament, John Jinapor urged Ken Ofori-Atta not to be afraid of accountability but to make himself available for investigation.
“The OSP has declared Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta as a fugitive. We should not be afraid of accountability as public officials. On this day of reckoning, on this day of accountability, the only thing I can say is that we wish the man in white the best of luck,” Mr. Jinapor noted.
Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is believed to have left Ghana on January 2.
The OSP has urged him to return to Ghana voluntarily or he will be forced to return.
