The Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has restored the water supply to the Ho Municipality after a temporary disruption caused by the breakdown of all three pumps at the Kpeve Water Abstraction Plant.
A statement signed by Mr. Stanley Martey, Public Relations and Communication Manager of GWL, said the company's technical teams worked around the clock to resolve the issue within the stipulated 48-hour timeframe.
To mitigate the impact of the outage, GWL deployed water tankers to essential service institutions as a short-term intervention.
During a recent visit to the Kpeve Intake Point, Mr. Adam Mutawakilu, Managing Director of GWL, assured residents of Ho and its environs that the company was committed to addressing the water supply challenges.
He explained that urgent measures had been implemented to restore a stable supply.
As part of its medium-term plan, GWL has procured two new pumps, which are expected to arrive in the country by the end of March.
In the long term, GWL is also working on expanding the Kpeve Water Treatment Plant to meet the growing water demand in Ho and surrounding communities, the statement said.
The company expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for his dedication to ensuring stable and equitable access to water for all residents.
GWL also reaffirmed its commitment to improving water service delivery and thanked stakeholders for their patience and cooperation during the outage.
