Stop sending kids to buy tobacco products for you – Tobacco Control Compliance Unit cautions

The Tobacco Control Compliance Unit has kicked against the use of minors to buy tobacco products in the country.

Speaking to Kasapa FM, Senior Regulatory Officer with the Tobacco Control Compliance Unit, Mrs. Rachael Asantewaa Darko stressed the need to protect the rights of kids.

She explained the dangers of sending kids to buy tobacco products, indicating that exposing them to the products can influence them to use them.

“Protect kids’ rights, don’t send minors to buy tobacco products for you,” she cautioned.

In the interview, Mrs. Rachael Asantewaa Darko also advised against smoking and driving.

She noted that such behaviour is hazardous and can lead to accidents.

She also warned against smoking in no-smoking areas, indicating that it is against the law and can lead to fines and imprisonment of culprits.

“Smoking while driving can be hazardous, keep our roads safe. Smoking in no-smoking areas can lead to fines and imprisonment. Let’s respect the law,” she warned.
