A Private Legal Practitioner and former Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum, Captain (RTD) Nkrabea Effah Dartey, has argued that the report from Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) cannot serve as a basis for prosecution.

This comes after committee members of the ORAL officially presented Phase I of its report to President John Dramani Mahama.

In an interview with Channel One News on Monday, February 10, Effah Dartey noted that the report from ORAL can only serve as a lead and guide to call individuals to explain themselves.

According to him President John Dramani Mahama established ORAL in a haste to create a popularity for fighting corruption.

He emphasised that the operations of ORAL is fruitless as the constitutional state agencies are the ones that will eventually take over and ensure that due process of prosecution is followed.

“In less than two months, Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) has come up with a report. I wonder what is in the report because nobody, nobody, mark my words, nobody, not even the Attorney General can rely on the report to prosecute anybody. You cannot rely on the report to prosecute anybody,” he stated.
