Former Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya, Hanna Serwa Tetteh has admonished the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to take Ghanaians for granted after the victory in the 2024 general election.
Speaking to 3FM in an interview, she argued that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lost the election because Ghanaians decided to take back their power, having been taken for granted by the past government.
“The public was becoming extremely disenchanted with political actors and wanted to make a change happen to demonstrate that they could not be taken for granted.
“Don’t take the Ghanaian people for granted, even though we’ve given you the space and power to make significant changes,” Hanna Tetteh urged the new NDC government.
Ms. Tetteh who formerly served as Minister for Foreign Affairs further advised the NPP to learn lessons from the 2024 general election defeat.
“You took us for granted. Don’t take us for granted anymore,” Hanna Tetteh said.
After the NDC’s massive victory in the 2024 general election, Ghanaians are expecting better governance.
The party while in opposition promised better roads, a good health system, jobs for the people and more.
