Why the World Must Ostracise Rwanda's President Paul Kagame

Why the World Must Ostracise Rwandas President Paul Kagame

The world must not allow African leaders who live billionaire lifestyles at the expense of hapless taxpayers struggling to survive day by day to start and fight wars causing misery on a scale never seen in the history of human cruelty, to get away with such crimes against humanity.

President Paul Kagame, who is directly responsible for state-sponsored terrorism for tribal-supremacist reasons, in a grandiose and hubristic dream to establish a new great Tutsi state with him at its head, must be ostracized for that reason.

Nothing happens in Rwanda without President Kagame's approval, in what is essentially an apartheid police state masquerading as a democracy. He has brooked no opposition to his rule and has sought and murdered opponents in exile.

It is thus disingenuous on President Paul Kagame's part to tell the world that he doesn't know whether or not Rwandan troops are inside DR Congo - a blatant lie straight from President Putin's playbook on invading a natural resources-rich neighbor.

Rwanda is responsible for training and arming the M23 rebel militia, made up of Tutsis from the eastern region of the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo, who have been on a murderous mission at the behest of Rwanda, to enable it to replicate the successes of the militias that overthrew the Syrian dictator, President Assad, and are now ruling Syria.

In light of these egregious actions, the African Union must take decisive action. We recommend that the African Union impose immediate sanctions on Rwanda, barring the landlocked country from access to ports and trade routes. Furthermore, personal sanctions should be slapped on all the military leadership of Rwanda, including their Commander-in-Chief, President Paul Kagame. These sanctions should include:

- Freezing of assets: Freeze the personal assets of President Kagame and other military leaders implicated in the conflict.

- Travel bans: Impose travel bans on President Kagame and other military leaders, preventing them from traveling internationally.

- Arms embargo: Impose an arms embargo on Rwanda, preventing the country from purchasing or receiving military equipment.

These sanctions should remain in place until the M23 militia ends its killing spree in the eastern part of DR Congo and disarms. The international community must take a strong stance against Rwanda's aggression and hold President Kagame and his military leaders accountable for their actions.
