Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, has pledged his full support for President John Dramani Mahama’s Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) initiative.
He bemoaned the hardship many Ghanaians endured under the previous government, while a privileged few with political connections amassed state resources and assets.
Speaking during President Mahama’s visit to Ho as part of his nationwide 'Thank You Tour' on Friday, January 24, the revered chief encouraged the President to pursue the looters, recover stolen funds and properties, and ensure that corrupt individuals face the law.
“ORAL is great news for all of us. It’s bad enough to suffer, but it’s worse to know that you are suffering because a few people think they deserve all that the state has to offer, engaging in a desperate scramble for our limited resources in the name of property ownership.
“We fully support your intentions and plans to recover everything that was stolen—funds, lands, buildings, and more. You have our unwavering support,” he declared.
Togbe Afede also commended President Mahama for the swift formation of his government and his commitment to running a lean administration.
“The speed with which you appointed your ministers is something Ghanaians say is unprecedented. You have delivered on your promise to limit the size of your government, and this is evident from the start,” he stressed.
