Disqualified flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah has stressed that the party is not waiting for an appointment from President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.

According to him, although the PNC supported the NDC in winning power to send the New Patriotic Party (NPP) out of office, the party is not holding the new government to ransom for a by-force appointment of its members.

Speaking to Joy News, Bernard Mornah noted that the PNC’s focus is to critique and support government policies when required.

“Indeed, the point is for John Mahama to determine whether he wants to appoint somebody from the PNC, the NPP, or any other place. Failing to do that, it is his burden to carry.

“The PNC remains a resolute political party. We have a duty to critique and to support government policies and programs where the need is, and so we will continue to play our role,” Bernard Mornah said.

President John Dramani Mahama since his swearing-in on January 7 has appointed several persons to occupy various roles.

His nomination of Ministers of State and Regional Ministers is part of efforts to form his government to ensure he delivers on his promises to the Ghanaian people.

President John Dramani Mahama has this week appointed Nana Yaa Jantuah, former CPP General Secretary as a Presidential Staffer.

It is unclear whether there will be more appointments for members of other political parties.
