
With effect from January 21, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama has named Jones Borteye Applerh as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited.
In line with Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, this appointment was announced in a letter signed by Secretary to the President Callistus Mahama.
The clause gives the President the authority to name people to public positions, but only after consulting the Public Services Commission and the governing board.
The letter further directed Mr. Applerh to confirm his acceptance of the position within 14 days after being notified.
It is anticipated that Mr. Applerh, who takes on his new position at a pivotal moment for the state-owned distillery, will manage the business. Additionally, his appointment comes
