McDan Aviation has reopened its Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) after agreeing on terms to resolve its financial obligations to the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL).
The private jet service provider announced its return to operations in a press statement issued on January 20, 2025, noting its readiness to deliver premium services to its clientele.
“The reopening of our FBO comes after a successful resolution with the Ghana Airport Company Limited regarding outstanding financial matters. We appreciate the support and collaboration of the Ghana Airport Company Limited during this process,” said Kwaku Ampromfi, CEO of McDan Group.
The reopening comes after GACL had previously shut down McDan Aviation’s private jet terminal over unpaid debts reportedly exceeding $3 million, including unpaid rent and charges related to the terminal and lease contracts for land plots near the airport.
McDan Aviation had disputed the total amount and the closure, stating that a portion of the alleged debt was linked to a plot under legal dispute, which delayed full settlement.
“Our FBO is a cornerstone of McDan Aviation’s dedication to excellence in private jet services. We are thrilled to reopen our doors and once again offer our clients the top-tier service they have come to expect,” Mr. Ampromfi added.
The terminal offers facilities including a luxury lounge, state-of-the-art amenities, and personalized concierge services to ensure a seamless experience for travelers.
