The Sunyani Traditional Council has placed a temporary ban on the sale of stool lands until further notice with immediate effect.
This decision was taken at the Council’s maiden meeting for the year 2025, held on Friday January 17, 2025, at the Nana Bosoma Royal Palace.
In a statement signed by the Akwamuhene, Nana Kwaku Sarbeng II, the Council said: “Without prejudice to the Lands Commission, all sale of stool lands purporting to be coming from the Sunyani Traditional Council are hereby suspended until further notice.”
Consent letters
The statement added that all signing of consent letters by the traditional council for whatsoever was also suspended while “all statutory bodies are hereby informed to deal with Nana Kwaku Sarbeng II, the Akwamuhene, and Acting President of the Sunyani Traditional Council in all matters or transactions involving the Sunyani Traditional Council or by his authority, the registrar of the Sunyani Traditional Council.”
It warned that any person or group of persons who disobeyed the above decisions by the Council did so at their own risk.
