The Ashanti Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and the leadership of the party for nominating two distinguished individuals from the region to serve in his government.

The party acknowledged the nomination of Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak as Interior Minister-Designate and Kenneth Gilbert Adjei as Minister-Designate for Works, Housing, and Water Resources.

The move, they noted, demonstrates the party’s commitment to inclusivity and recognition of the region’s contribution to national development.

Speaking to OTEC FM’s afternoon political talk-show dubbed ‘Dwabrem’ on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, the Regional Communications Director, Abass Nurudeen highlighted the importance of such appointments and how they will help motivate party members and foster unity.

According to him, the selection of individuals from the Ashanti Region for key ministerial roles is a clear acknowledgement of the region’s significance in Ghana’s political and developmental agenda.

“We are deeply grateful to His Excellency the President and the party leadership for this recognition. It is a testament to the trust reposed in the Ashanti Region and its people’’ he told the preogramm’s host Prince Nii Ardey.

“We wholeheartedly congratulate Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak and Kenneth Gilbert Adjei on their nominations to these critical portfolios, Both individuals have demonstrated exemplary leadership, dedication, and competence in their respective fields, and we are confident they will continue to serve the nation diligently in their new roles.”

"This gesture will undoubtedly energize our members and strengthen their resolve to work for the party’s success,” he said.

The NDC in the region pledged their unwavering support to the newly appointed ministers, urging them to serve with dedication and uphold the values of the party.

They also called on members of the region to rally behind the appointees to ensure their success in delivering on their mandates.

This development has been received warmly by party members in the Ashanti Region, many of whom see it as a positive step toward greater inclusion and development within the party and the nation at large.
