Minority in Parliament Leader Alexander Afenyo Markin has urged Dr. Dominic Ayine, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice-Designate, to avoid repeating the mistakes made by the previous administration.
Afenyo Markin made this call during Parliament’s debate on the approval of the first batch of vetted ministers on Tuesday, January 21.
Afenyo Markin cautioned Ayine not to use his position for political witch-hunting, stressing the importance of maintaining fairness in governance.
“Let us create an impression that getting into government is attractive, and getting out of government should also be attractive,” he stated.
He specifically addressed the issue of what he described as the “so-called” ORAL committee targeting political opponents.
“That so-called ORAL committee… claiming to be going after loot, must be cautioned that it is unconstitutional and illegal,” he said.
Afenyo Markin urged Dr. Ayine to review the activities of this body once he assumes office, stressing that state institutions, properly mandated to investigate and prosecute, should handle such matters.

The witches will surely be hunted. It is time for accountability now. When you were using the state institutions to harass innocent citizens, you were openly warned. Now you want to preach virtue....????? No way! Tit for tat. Godfred Dame should get ready!
