The Office of the President has affirmed its commitment to meeting the 14-day deadline for cabinet nominations.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Acting Presidential Spokesperson, stated this in an interview on Accra-based Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

“From all indications, the deadline for the Cabinet nominations will be met. Shortly before the list is dispatched, those nominated will have been communicated to,” he said.

This statement aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s earlier promise to announce his full cabinet within 14 days of assuming office on January 7, 2025.

Speaking at the National Muslim Prayer and Thanksgiving Service on Friday, January 10, President Mahama emphasized the importance of a swift and efficient government formation process.

“Government is being formed, ministers will be put in place, other officials will be appointed. And as I said, we will have our full cabinet in 14 days,” said the President.

The final list of cabinet nominees is expected to be presented to Parliament today, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, fulfilling the President’s commitment to a timely cabinet formation.
