47th President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump has announced a significant policy shift regarding gender recognition in the United States.
“As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female,” he said in his inaugural address on January 20, 2025.
This declaration aligns with Trump’s campaign promises to end diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs within the federal government.
An incoming White House official confirmed that the administration plans to issue executive orders terminating federal DEI initiatives and defining sex as male and female, per a Reuters news agency report.
The official emphasized that the government would no longer promote “gender ideology” and would recognize only two sexes, male and female, grounded in “fundamental and incontrovertible reality.”
These policy changes are expected to have significant implications for federal programs and services, including healthcare, education and military service.
