The Acting Director-General of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), Mohammed Abdul Salam, has urged staff to prioritize professionalism over partisanship during work hours.
In his introductory address to the team, Abdul Salam emphasized the essence of unity and dedication to the institution’s objectives, asserting that his leadership would serve all Ghanaians equally, irrespective of political leanings.
“Yes, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in power, and my appointment came through the government. However, my mandate here is not to serve one group of people but everyone,” he stated.
He also discouraged any political discussions at the workplace, stressing the need to focus on productivity and advancing the NLA’s mission.
“Let us leave political matters outside the office. During work hours, let’s focus solely on delivering results and advancing the mission of the NLA,” he said.
Abdul Salam reassured staff of his openness to discuss political issues outside office hours but reiterated the importance of maintaining a professional atmosphere during working hours.
“If you have political concerns or want to discuss matters relating to the NDC, I’m more than happy to engage with you—but not during work hours. Let’s separate work and politics to maintain harmony and productivity,” he added.
