Samuel Koku Anyidoho, Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute, has expressed confidence in Mahama Ayariga’s capability to serve as Majority Leader in Ghana’s Parliament.
In a social media post on Friday, January 17, 2025, Anyidoho stated, “Having been at the Presidency, worked as Minister, been long in Parliament, I have no doubt that he [Mahama Ayariga] will be a good Leader to share his experiences and mould the young ones and be stern and firm.”
Mahama Ayariga, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, has been appointed as the Majority Leader of the 9th Parliament of Ghana.
This appointment follows President John Dramani Mahama’s nomination of Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the former Majority Leader, as Minister of Finance-designate.
Ayariga brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as Minister of Information and Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology.
His extensive tenure in Parliament and prior roles in government are expected to contribute significantly to his leadership as Majority Leader.
The transition in parliamentary leadership is part of a broader restructuring within the government, aiming to strengthen its administrative and legislative functions.
