Chairman of Operation Retrieve All Loot (ORAL) Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who doubles as North Tongu Member of Parliament says ORAL is not a temporary initiative but a lasting commitment to protecting Ghana’s resources.

Speaking to the media, Ablakwa stressed that the ORAL would remain active in the best interest of the nation as long as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in power.

Ablakwa highlighted the need to safeguard Ghana’s assets, emphasizing, “As a Republic, it is prudent that its properties and resources are protected at all times to benefit the next generation.”

He expressed serious concern over the extent of alleged state looting by what he described as “selfish Ghanaians,” cautioning that such actions, if unchecked, could endanger the country’s future, particularly for younger generations.

Acknowledging potential backlash, the North Tongu MP anticipated that individuals implicated in corrupt practices would attempt to discredit the operation.

“Nothing can frighten us to lay down our tools,” he asserted.

Addressing accusations that the initiative is a witch hunt, he dismissed the idea, stating, “They think it’s a witch hunt exercise as a seven days wonder, but those who have such ideas should change their minds and know that it’s a genuine exercise targeting nobody except those who have stolen state funds and have used dubious ways to acquire government properties.”

Ablakwa made it clear that the operation’s focus is solely on combating corruption. “We have no bone of contention with any innocent Ghanaians, except the corrupt. And as we have come to stay, we assure that we are coming to deliver for the best interest of Ghanaians,” he emphasizes.

Operation Retrieve All Loot is positioning itself as a steadfast guardian of accountability, dedicated to recovering state assets and promoting transparency.

Ablakwa’s statements reflect a long-term strategy to tackle corruption in the NDC’s tenure and ensure a brighter future for Ghana.
