Ghanaian musician and Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has issued an ultimatum to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) regarding the unresolved murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

In a Facebook post dated Tuesday, January 14, A Plus revealed that he had previously provided the CID with information implicating a high-profile minister in the former government regarding Suale’s assassination.

He stated, “Last year, I was invited to the CID headquarters to provide information regarding the murder of Ahmed Suale. During the meeting, I identified a high-profile minister from the previous government who was allegedly involved in contracting assailants to carry out the crime.”

Expressing frustration over the lack of progress, A Plus warned that if the CID does not update the public within 48 hours, he would take further action.

“If no update is provided within 48 hours, I will invoke my authority as a Member of Parliament to formally summon the Ghana Police Service to brief Parliament on this case,” he asserted.

He further cautioned that failing to do so, he would “utilize my Facebook and other social media platforms to update the nation on what I know about the matter which shall include the name of the alleged perpetrator.”

Ahmed Hussein-Suale, an investigative journalist with Tiger Eye P.I., was tragically murdered on January 16, 2019, in Accra.

He was shot multiple times by unidentified assailants on a motorbike while driving home.

His death followed the release of an exposé on corruption within the Ghana Football Association, which led to the resignation of the then association's president, Kwesi Nyantakyi.

In 2024, A Plus was invited by the CID to assist with the investigation following his public claims of possessing vital information.

Thank you, MP Obeng; let that murdered journalist be happy in his grave.
