The first batch of ministers nominated by President John Dramani Mahama will face the vetting committee on Monday, January 13.

President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday announced his first batch of ministerial nominees to head various ministries in accordance with Article 78 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.

The nominees include,
1. Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson - Minister for Finance Designate

2. Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor - Minister for Energy Designate

3. Hon. Dominic Akuritinga Ayini - Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Designate

Today, a memo from Parliament’s media relations directorate to the Dean of the Parliamentary Press Corps has indicated that the Appointments Committee will sit on Monday.

This will mark the vetting of all three ministerial nominees.

“The Appointments Committee of Parliament will hold Public Hearings on Monday, 13th January 2025 at 9:00 am, at Committee Rooms 1 & 2, Administration Block, to consider the following nominees as Ministers of State:

“Hon Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson - Minister-designate to the Ministry of Finance.

“Hon John Abdulai Janipor – Minister-designate to the Ministry of Energy.

“Hon Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine – Minister-designate, Attorney General and Ministry of Justice,” the memo said.

The vetting will be broadcast live on television for the general public to follow the proceedings.
