The Ghanaian cedi has depreciated in the buying rate by 3 pesewas but has appreciated by 1 pesewa in the selling rates against the United States dollar, compared to Wednesday’s averages.

The buying rate as at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 9, 2025, is GHS14.65 while the selling rate is being offered at GHS15.13.

At forex bureaus, the cedi is trading at a buying rate of GHS15.30 and a selling rate of GHS15.80.

This is based on data provided by Cedirates.com, a well-known Ghanaian website for currency and fuel updates.

The Cedi is trading at GHS14.74 on purchasing rate and GHS14.76 selling price at interbank rates against the US dollar.

The buying and selling rates of the British Pound Sterling are, on average, GHS17.99 and GHS18.77, respectively.

The purchasing and selling rates for the Euro are GHS14.97 and GHS15.66, respectively.

The selling price of the Pound Sterling on the Bank of Ghana interbank market is GHS18.22.

The Euro is currently selling at GHS15.21 on the interbank market.

Through LemFi and Afriex, people can send money to Ghana from the US or the UK at GHS14.61 and GHS13.77 respectively for each dollar.

The two money transfer sites are offering buying and selling rates of GHS18.15 and GHS17.21 for the British Pound, respectively.

For euro rates on Wednesday, Afriex is selling at GHS14.35, while Lemfi offers GHS15.16 per €1.

For those who will be renewing their Netflix, Spotify or Apple Music subscriptions through Visa and Mastercard, both payment processors are offering a US dollar for GHS15.80 each.
