Ghana’s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama has assured that his government will expand trade between Ghana and Kenya under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The former president who was re-elected pledged in a Facebook post after visiting Kenya to hold talks with President William Ruto.
“It was a great opportunity to discuss our regional integration efforts, continental security and how we can work collectively to upscale the benefits of the AfCFTA. As a former Chair of the AU high-level committee on Trade, I remain committed to expanding trade among our countries under the aegis of the AfCFTA,” John Dramani Mahama said.
He added, “We shall strengthen relations between Kenya and Ghana.”
During his visit to Kenya, John Dramani Mahama thanked President William Ruto for his support over the years and invited him to his inauguration ceremony next month.
Ghana’s President-elect will be sworn into office on January 7, 2025.
