Impeccable information available has revealed that two leading New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwarts, all vying to succeed president John Agyekum Kufuor whose term of office expires in 2008 have suggested to Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, to join their campaign train to enable them reward him (Jake) with the vice president position.
The move, our sources said, Jake has flatly refused to comply with the two, Hon. Hackman Owusu Agyemang, Minister of Works and Housing and Water Resources and Hon. Osafo Marfo, former minister of Education and sports.
However the source did not mince words to say that the move came about when he (Jake) held a meeting with NPP members of Parliament to discuss his presidential ambitions and the response, the sources said, was amazing.
