Since 2008, some people in the NPP have always been part of the National Executive, or hovered around the national campaign. Over the period, it has become obvious such individuals have become bereft of ideas, and the motivation has, ostensibly, been platform's razzmatazz.
When our 2016 victory of 1million vote difference was whittled down to 0.5million, a committee was set up to delve into causes of that drop in votes, but I personally didn't see the effect of that inquiry, and lessons drawn therein. We went into 2024 with, predominantly, same people.
And the party has further went into electoral tailspin in 2024. And with such crushing defeat, we must undertake an equally crushing reforms, if we are, indeed, serious to make a successful comeback in 2028. If we sweep things under the carpet, we would risk being in the wilderness.
To begin with, all the current National Executive of the party must be completely swept aside. The Council of Elders must be re-engineered - they don't, necessarily, have to be of well-advanced in age. Intra-party contests must be left to ordinary members; cronyism must be totally jettisoned.
And after intra-party elections, the winners must be given the leeway to run the party; losers must be kept away from the limelight and made to operate behind the scenes. Party communications, particularly on TV/radio, mustn't be about 'those within our circles'. It's not the way to go.
To future national Executive of the party: operate open-door policy and don't answer calls only when it's from those within your circles, or slay queens. Operate from the party's office and don't cocoon yourselves in secluded places where the party members cannot access you.
When you get party position, see it as a privilege and responsibility; it shouldn't be considered an entitlement where ideas, suggestions etc., members of the party propound, isn't taken with seriousness. Arrogant characters mustn't be allowed near leadership position.
And to those who had the opportunity to serve in sensitive and key positions but exhibited objectionable haughtiness and egregious idiopathic pride, which put off a multitude of our party's grassroot base: we are back into opposition so you can go and display the arrogance at home.

ASSIN NORTH by elections should have taught theNEC some useful lessons but overlooked them and assumed the Ashanti votes would win the elections for Dr Bawumia. I think they must explain why they became dormant thinkers. Secondly, elements who had issues with the party and decided to wash their dirty linen in public all in the name of democracy acted unwisely and the party must deal with them by expelling them outright. Thirdly, I still believe Ghanaians do not understand the NPP philosophy and ...
