A group calling itself the Nkrumah Action Front, a wing of the Convention People's Party, has called on the security agencies in Tamale to investigate an alleged plot to kill the Head of Programmes at Radio Justice, Morris Mega.

In a statement issued in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale, the group condemned the alleged threats and asked the security agencies to help deal with the issue to enable journalists in the region perform their duties without fear.

Morris Mega has since the past two weeks been receiving threats of harm and death in various forms after call to a radio programme he hosted warned that he stopped public discussion of the arrest of an armed robbery gang including some policemen.

Five policemen have been interdicted and are facing trial for their alleged roles in armed robberies.

Apparently one of the accused policemen is from Tamale.
