The Ashanti Regional Chapter of the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC) has formed an organisation, known as "Education for All Teams," in nine districts in the region to act as counsellors or mentors in basic schools.

Mr John Kwadwo Owusu, the Regional Co-ordinator of the Chapter who announced this, mentioned the districts as Kumasi, Afigya-Sekyere, Sekyere East and West, Ejura-Sekyedumase, Ahafo-Ano North and South, Kwabre and Atwima-Nwabiagya.
He was speaking at the GNECC Global Action Week celebration at Oldmankrom near Tepa in the Ahafo-Ano North district of Ashanti last Tuesday.

Mr Owusu said that about three district teams would be formed by the end of December this year, to also help monitor the development and progress of education in the districts. He said the Coalition with membership from Civil Society Groups, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) and stakeholders in Education, was determined to assist all stakeholders to find solutions to low or poor motivation for teachers, poor infrastructure facilities, inadequate monitoring and supervision and irresponsible parenting and other problems.

Mr Owusu called on traditional authorities, district assemblies, parents and education officials to support the Coalition to enable it achieve its objective.
Madam Elizabeth Nana Abudu, Ahafo-Ano North District Director of Education, said the Government was committed to improving education so that the country could have a strong human resource development base.
