The National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has condemned alleged acts of vandalism by supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) following their victory in the 2024 general elections.

In a social media post on Tuesday, December 10, Mr. Ahiagbah called on the leadership of the NDC their supporters and ensure peace prevails.

“The election was peaceful, and the NDC won the presidential election with an absolute majority in Parliament. Its members must note that we are a democracy, and their victory is not a license to be lawless,” he stated.

He expressed particular concern about incidents reported at Ghana Gas, describing them as disturbing.

“The pictures coming from Ghana Gas are disturbing, and the leadership of the NDC must call its members to order,” Mr. Ahiagbah stated.

Mr. Ahiagbah’s comments come amid growing calls for calm and unity from various quarters as Ghana transitions to new leadership.

This follows reports of some NDC supporters allegedly attacking private and state properties in the aftermath of the party’s decisive electoral win.

The NDC secured the presidency with a significant margin and increased its parliamentary seats to attain an absolute majority, signaling a major political shift.
