Sulemana Braimah, the Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), has issued a message to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) about its “Operation Return All Loot” (ORAL) initiative.
Mr. Braimah cautioned the NDC against engaging in corruption while attempting to recover stolen assets from previous government officials.
In a social media post on Tuesday, December 10, the social commentator congratulated the NDC on their electoral victory but emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the execution of the ORAL initiative.
“Dear Friends in the NDC, Congratulations to you. One of the things I eagerly look forward to is ORAL. But let me clear with you, you cannot recover the loot from others while you also loot.
“We’ll be keeping an eagle eye on you. Without greed, we can build a better Ghana for all,” Mr. Braimah wrote.
The ORAL initiative, proposed by the NDC’s flagbearer, is aimed at retrieving stolen assets from officials of the outgoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, which the NDC claims were unlawfully acquired during their time in office.
The NDC has promised to dedicate significant resources to ensuring that those responsible for looting state resources are held accountable.
