The Founder of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has expressed his commitment to providing advice and sharing ideas with President-elect John Dramani Mahama to help ensure his administration’s success for the benefit of Ghana.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, December 10, Mr. Cudjoe revealed plans to engage with the incoming President by offering insights from IMANI on critical policy areas.
Among these is a forthcoming brief on a key sector that he believes will have a significant impact on immediate revenue decisions and a campaign promise.
“I will continue to engage with President John Dramani Mahama, offering IMANI's ideas and advice so he succeeds for Ghana. I am preparing a brief on a critical sector that will impact immediate revenue decisions and a manifesto promise,” he stated.
Additionally, Franklin Cudjoe cautioned the President-elect to be meticulous in his appointments, particularly in critical sectors. He advised against individuals with questionable financial backgrounds who may attempt to leverage their wealth to secure influential positions.
“I will be urging him to be very careful with certain appointments to critical sectors, and he should be wary of moneybags with questionable sources of wealth who will be lobbying for certain positions in order to perpetuate their trade as they did under Nana Akufo-Addo,” Mr. Cudjoe warned.
Despite his active role in shaping governance conversations, Franklin Cudjoe reiterated that he has no desire for a public office or committee appointment in the Mahama administration.
He expressed satisfaction with his current work at IMANI, emphasising, “Please seriously I am happy with my work with IMANI. I do not need any appointment to any office or committee in the next government.”
President-elect John Dramani Mahama is set to be sworn into office on January 7, 2025, ushering in a new chapter in Ghana’s governance.
