Franklin Cudjoe, the President of IMANI Africa, has clarified that he is not seeking any political appointment in the next government of President John Dramani Mahama.
In a post shared on social media on Tuesday, December 10, Mr. Cudjoe emphasized his contentment with his current role at IMANI, an influential think tank.
“Please seriously I am happy with my work with IMANI. I do not need any appointment to any office or committee in the next government,” he stated.
The policy advisor, who has previously served on a number of key committees, including one aimed at reducing unnecessary government agencies under the Mahama administration, also touched on his past experiences working with the government.
He recalled his role in a committee during the tenure of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, which helped save the country nearly GHS 200 million.
While he expressed his satisfaction with his work at IMANI, Mr. Cudjoe emphasized that he would continue to offer guidance and advice to Mahama, particularly in sectors critical to the nation’s revenue generation.
“I will continue to engage with President John Dramani Mahama, offering IMANI’s ideas and advice so he succeeds for Ghana,” he said.
The IMANI President also warned Mahama to remain cautious of political appointments, advising him to be wary of individuals with questionable wealth sources who might lobby for positions in the new government.
