NDC foot soldiers have sounded the death knell for Free Senior High School

The NDC have resoundingly won election 2024, both presidential and parliamentary, setting an unprecedented record in the history of Ghana elections.

Now president-elect Mr John Dramani Mahama and his NDC government can run the nation without any disruptions from the slimmer NPP parliamentarians effective from 7 January 2025.

With this unprecedented great win margin giving the NDC absolute control and peace to run the nation however best or worst they like, why should their supporters embark on stealing rampage immediately upon the announcement of their victory?

Does winning a general election bestow upon them the right to go on rampage, breaking into buffer stock warehouses making away with food items meant for distribution among free Senior High Schools?

Videos forwarded to my WhatsApp page are so disturbing to watch, seeing these hoodlums making away with bags of rice, provisions, etc., in the glare presence of overwhelmed police personnel.

Does breaking into such food buffer stocks meant for free Senior High Schools not the first nail put into the coffin of free SHS that Mr Mahama and his NDC hierarchy have promised to review; surely to cancel but not revamp?

Again, does winning a general election allow the supporters of the victorious political party to immediately proceed on stealing spree, breaking into offices of their rival parties, shops, and warehouses? This is exactly what some NDC supporters are brazenly doing now according to videos forwarded to my WhatsApp page.

In my own Kumawu town, an NDC supporter had the shameless audacity to whack an aged woman across the face, sending her off her feet and onto the floor simply for being an NPP supporter. When questioned by a plainclothes military personnel why he had done that, this NDC guy continued to slap the man, little did he know the stranger was a military personnel.

I understand the soldier did not spare him. However, the Kumawu Zongo guys were furious and threatened reprisal upon the soldiers come to offer protection and safety to the voters because of the reaction to the action earlier taken by their kin who slapped the woman.

If the NDC have won the election, it is not for the benefit or pain of only a section of the country or people but for the whole nation. Why then are some NDC people thinking the victory of the election is only for them hence they can take the laws into their hands to behave irresponsibly or however they want?

To the beneficiaries of the free Senior High School, I say, cry, my beloved people.

I am very much apprehensive that the free SHS education will become history in a matter of years, if not months, upon assumption of power by NDC.

Could Mr Mahama please address the nation requesting the NDC supporters to put a stop to their assumed lawless actions as told above?
