The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed has opined that Ghana’s seat of government, the Flagstaff House needs purification when the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) leaves office.

According to him, the seat of government has become a citadel for corruption under the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Speaking to TV3 on Monday, December 9, Murtala Muhammed proposed that prayer warriors should be employed to go and pray at the Flagstaff House to sanitise the place.

“The Flagstaff House became the citadel of corruption. This Flagstaff house, I think it ought to be purified, it ought to be sanitized. We need to get prayer warriors to go and pray and pray to God to forgive us for the corruption that is going on there,” Murtala Muhammed said.

Speaking on the victory of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 General Election. The MP for Tamale Central argued that it is a big statement showing how Ghanaians disapprove of the government of President Akufo-Addo.

He said it is an indication that Ghanaians can no longer be taken for granted.

“The people of this country have spoken very loud. One message I have taken is that you can no longer take the people for granted,” Murtala Muhammed said.

He assured Ghanaians that when John Dramani Mahama is sworn into office in January 2025, he will fight corruption head-on to transform the country for the benefit of every citizen.
