Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, founder and leader of the Movement for Change (M4C) and Alliance for Revolutionary Change, has congratulated former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on their "emphatic victory" in Ghana's 2024 general elections.
In a statement issued on Sunday, December 8, 2024, the former Minister of Trade and Industry acknowledged the will of the electorate.
"Although the Electoral Commission is yet to formally declare the elections, it is very clear that the people of Ghana have spoken," Kyerematen stated.
He urged all citizens to respect the outcome once officially announced. "I urge all Ghanaians to accept the decision of the Ghanaian electorate once the official results are released, in order to preserve the peace of our dear nation," he added.
Kyerematen commended the conduct of candidates and the peaceful nature of the elections. "I wish in the same vein to commend all presidential and parliamentary candidates for their responsible conduct, which has undoubtedly made this year's general elections one of the most peaceful in our nation's history," he said.
Expressing concern over election-related casualties, Kyerematen extended his sympathies to affected families. "I extend my deepest sympathies to the family of the individual who is reported to have lost his life during the elections and to those who sustained injuries," he remarked.
He concluded with a call for national unity. "Let us all remember that there are no winners or losers in this election. It is Ghana that has emerged victorious, through the mercy and grace of our Living God," he affirmed.
"God bless our homeland Ghana and make our nation great and strong!" Kyerematen declared.
