Elections Election 2024: Tensions flare over tampered seals on voting materials in Mampong
SAT, 07 DEC 2024

Tensions flared at the Mampong Infantry Junior Primary School (St. Monica's) in the Ashanti Region after National Democratic Congress (NDC) polling agents raised alarms over broken seals on voting materials, threatening to disrupt the general elections.

The seals, which are meant to remain intact until opened in the presence of political party representatives and candidates, were discovered to have been tampered with before voting began.

This led to protests from NDC agents, who questioned the integrity of the election materials.

With 617 voters expected to cast their ballots at the station, the discovery caused a brief delay to the voting process.

However, the situation was swiftly brought under control after the timely intervention of an Election Officer, who addressed the concerns and allowed voting to proceed.
