Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed optimism about his chances of becoming Ghana’s next President at the end of today's December 7 elections.
Ghanaians are at the polls today to vote to elect new Members of Parliament and a President to lead the country for the next four years.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of the country, is leading the ruling party as its Flagbearer, hoping to keep the party in power for another term.
Early Saturday morning, the NPP flagbearer arrived in the Walewale Constituency where he voted at the Kperiga Presby D/A primary school polling station.
Speaking to the media in a short interview after voting, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said he has no doubt he will be victorious in the presidential election at the end of the polls.
“I am confident of victory,” Dr. Bawumia declared, citing the transformation the NPP has delivered and his belief that Ghanaians will choose to continue on this path of progress.
In a Facebook post after leaving the polling centre, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia urged all Ghanaians to go to their various polling centres to cast their ballots.
“I just finished casting my vote at the Kperiga Presby D/A primary school polling station in the Walewale constituency of the North East region. Kindly get out and vote, too. One Ghana, One People. It Is Possible,” Dr. Bawumia said.
