Renowned Ghanaian investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has commended the campaign strategy of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing it as more organized and effective than that of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a detailed analysis shared on social media on Friday, December 6, Manasseh highlighted several factors that have distinguished the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) campaign ahead of the 2024 elections. According to him, Dr. Bawumia’s hard work and strategic approach have set him apart.

“Very few presidential candidates have worked as hard as he has,” Manasseh noted, adding that the Vice President’s campaign has been driven by multiple “arrowheads,” including his wife, Samira Bawumia, and running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

Manasseh also acknowledged the humility and modesty exhibited by Dr. Bawumia during the campaign, which he believes has endeared him to many Ghanaians.

He observed that while the governing party enjoys incumbency advantages, Bawumia’s approach to leveraging these resources has been less flamboyant compared to previous administrations.

“His decision to campaign with a bus and his general modest disposition endear him to those who encounter him,” Manasseh stated.

The journalist further emphasized the role of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy in bolstering the NPP’s campaign, describing it as a cornerstone achievement that resonates with rural communities.

However, Manasseh noted that the election’s outcome would ultimately depend on factors beyond the campaign’s organization.

Manasseh, I have no time to argue with your assertion, but I need to ask you this question: In which developing country, let alone a developed one, would such a destructive and corrupt government be entertained on any platform to campaign? You hit against Mahama when Ghana was at its best; sometimes, I feel that you are responsible for this catastrophe that has hit our nation because you weren't sincere. Based on your dishonesty, Akufo Addo and Bawumia were inspired to use deception to destr...

Is Mahama's government heading in the right direction?
